JEAN ELIZABETH TREVORS
TREVORS, JEAN ELIZABETH ...went gently into that Good Night on the morning of August 6, 2008. Jean was born January 22, 1922 to Headly and Getrude Pond, in Granpa's house at the top of the Good Road, Upper Durham, New Brunswick, Canada. She moved to California with her husband Raymond and their first son, Gerry, in 1946, and welcomed second son James in 1947. She and her family moved to Hayward in 1956. In 1958 Jean became the first woman member of the Decoto School District Board of Trustees (now New Haven Unified), and in the 1970s she was a volunteer teaching assistant for disabled children with the Hayward Unified School District. A glad and grateful member of Niles Congregational Church for over a half a century, Jean was a kind, loving, generous of spirit woman, mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed as long as we, who knew her, are here. She walked the good road to the day of quiet. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 26, 2:00 PM at Niles Congregational Church, 255 H Street, Fremont. Jean will be interred at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward. I lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Upper Durham Memorial Church, c/o Lorna Estey, 45 Good Road, Durham Bridge, NB, Canada E6C 1C1
