CROSBY, HELEN CATHERINE Sept.28, 1920 - Dec.31, 2008: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Catherine Crosby (nee Bowes) of Fredericton, New Brunswick, wife of the late Garnett (Bing) Crosby. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Fannie Bowes. She was the last surviving member of eight children, brothers James, Michael, Murray, Ronnie and Clifford Bowes, and sisters Mary Loughery and Edith Fennell. Helen is survived by her daughter Jane, former son-in-law Rayburn Doucett, five grand-children Rick Doucett (Jill), Kimberlee Doucett, Kathy Fraser-Jennings (Lori), Beth Jennings-Boone (John), Michael Jennings(Stacey), 11 great grand-children, Erin & Jayne Taylor, Devon and Morgan Doucett, Reese Fraser- Jennings, Michael, Meg and Jack Boone, Ben, Grace and Clair Jennings and several nieces and nephews. A devoted and committed member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Hanwell, Helen will be remembered for her feisty spirit, love of travel, concern about everyone, baking that her family and apartment neighbors enjoyed often, her opinions on most everything, and most of all, her positive outlook.. Helen's love of hockey and baseball and "her" teams kept her occupied during those seasons. Family and friends were extremely important to her and she cherished all of her grand-children. The family will receive visitors at McAdams Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB, on Friday January 2nd, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish on Saturday, January 3rd, 2009 at 2 PM with Father Jack Dolan and Father John Jennings as celebrants.
