WAITE, LEONA FRANCES - Peacefully, at the York Manor, Fredericton, NB, on December 31, 2003, Mrs. Leona Frances (Eldridge) Waite, wife of the late Burrell G. Waite, formerly of Beaver Harbour, NB. Born in Beaver Harbour, NB, on January 16, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Mark and Alberta (Wright) Eldridge. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by two daughters, L. Jane Sabean of Fredericton, NB and Judy (Mrs. William) McLeod of Stoney Creek, Ontario; seven grandchildren, Wendy (Mrs. Ross Sabean), of Oakville, ON, Holly Sabean, Kevin (Ellen) Sabean, Brent Sabean, all of Fredericton, NB, Robert (Lila) McLeod, Derrick McLeod and Scott (Zibia) McLeod, all of Ontario; ten great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Helen Kierstead of Beaver Harbour; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by one sister, Ester Wright, and one brother, Garnet Eldridge. She was the last member of her immediate family. Leona was an avid curler and enjoyed knitting. She was a great lover of children. She was a member of the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church and the St. George Curling Club. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Saturday from 10 - 11:30 am. The service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm at the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church, followed by interment in the Christ Church (Anglican) Cemetery. In Leona's memory, donations may be made to the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church, the Alzheimer's Society, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. www.stgeorgefh.ca
