Dr. Mieczyslaw "Mike" Majka 1921-2007 MARY'S POINT, NB - Dr. Mieczyslaw "Mike" Majka, 85, of Mary's Point, passed away suddenly at his home on November 11, 2007. Mike was born in Tarnow, Poland, and immigrated to Canada in 1951. He was a retired medical pathologist, having worked at the Moncton Hospital for over 35 years. He was a highly respected specialist who took great pride in his work. He loved nature and was a founder of the Moncton Naturalists' Club. For many years he resided with his family on Caledonia Mountain. Mike leaves behind his wife, Mary Majka; his two sons, Christopher (Sheilagh) of Halifax and Marc (Lynn) of San Carlos, California; as well as members of his extended family, David Christie of Mary's Point and Aga Trzcionka of Ottawa. He will be fondly remembered by by his colleagues, co-workers and friends in the Moncton and Albert County area. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
