1934-2010 - Shirley Ann Woodworth, 75, of Midway and formerly of Hopewell Hill passed away on March 29th, 2010 at the Moncton Hospital. Shirley was born in Riverside on October 16th, 1934, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Julia (MacLeod) Betts. She was a active member of the Trinity United Church, having taught Sunday School,being a Lay Minister and she was also involved in the United Church Women. Shirley and her husband, Lester, owned and operated Woodworth\'s Grocery Store and post office in Hopewell Hill for 51 years. Shirley was very community minded and if anyone needed anything she was there. Her family was very important to her and she was always there for them. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Whenever you met Shirley she always had a smile and will be remembered for her kind and gentle manner. She was a true inspiration to many and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Lester Woodworth of Midway; sons, Arden Woodworth (Mary), Aric Woodworth (Sherry) and Andrew Woodworth (Valerie) all of Hopewell Hill; her precious grandchildren, Loretta (Aaron), Luke (Melissa), Jacquelyn (Peter), Patrick, Stephen, Jonathan and Timothy; great grandchildren, Ethan and Grace; sisters, Nancy Keirstead (Robert) and Jessie Douthwright (Derrick) both of Riverside-Albert and Joan Malenfant (Peter) of Ontario; brothers, Brian Betts (Phyllis) and David Betts both of Riverside-Albert; sister-in-law, Elsie Smith (Warren) of Curryville. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy McIvor.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, April 1st, 2010 at 2:00pm with Rev. Alex Mosher officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting for further sharing of memories and for refreshments. Interment will be in the Hopewell Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the charity of the donor\'s choice would be appreciated by the family.
