Eldon Blackburn

Eldon Blackburn Family and friends of the late Eldon Blackburn gathered at Campbell's Funeral Home in Sackville, N.B. on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. to celebrate his life and mourn his passing. Rev. Douglas Campbell officiated and read scripture sentences. Musician Royal Hicks played two pieces of fiddle music entitled A Maiden's Prayer and God's Blessing On Four Strengths. Musician Harry Hanes also played two special pieces of music. Eldon's grandchildren came dressed in Eldon's green work shirts in honor of their "Papa." Honorary bearers, Harry Hanes, Kevin Baird, Lysle Allen, Harold Lewis, Thane Fullerton and Bob Brown carried flowers and formed an honor guard while pallbearers Earl Blackburn, Bruce Blackburn, Al Amos, Russell Trenholm, Murray Haley and Chris Melanson escorted the casket from the chapel. The committal and burial took place in the Point de Bute Cemetery. A time of fellowship and remembrance was held following the internment at the Mount Whatley Church Hall. Many floral tributes and memorial donations were given in memory of Eldon.He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
