Born in Long River Dec. 8, 1922, daughter of the late Everett and Eliza (Brown) Paynter.
Beloved wife of 67 years to Henry Meek. Dear mother of Gerald (Jean), Summerside; Stephen (Corinne), Whitby, Ontario; Jane (David) Younker, Kingston; Janice (Ricky) Trowsdale, Summerside; and Darin (Kathleen), Charlottetown. Mother-in-law of Eleanor Meek, Charlottetown. Loving grandmother to Tammy, Jamie, Sherri (Gerd Pohlers), Tracy Plaggenhœf (Derrick), Amanda, Jeff, Cory Trowsdale, Melissa Trowsdale, Chalyce, Taylor; step grandchildren, Jœy Trowsdale, Ernest Trowsdale, Flo Younker, Kellie-Lynn Younker and Ann Younker. Great-grandmother of Ashley and Amy Plaggenhœf, Harper and Oliver Pohlers Meek and Sebastan Trowsdale. Sister of Margaret Coles and Clair (Lydia).
She was predeceased by her sons, Roger and David; brothers, Waldo (Mildred) and Ivan (Gladys); and brother-in-law, Edwin Coles.
She was a member of the Kensington Legion Ladies Auxiliary, life member of Coronation WI, St. Mark's ACW and the Kensington Seniors Club.

Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Spring Brook.
