1919 - 2010 - John « Johnny » McDonald, 90 of Bouctouche, has passed away at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne de Kent on Saturday, May 1st, 2010. Born in Saint-Maurice de Kent on August 29th, 1919 he was the son of the late Daniel and the late Azélie (LeBlanc) McDonald. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Leona Cormier, his six children, Rheal (Monique) of Saint-Maurice de Kent, Normand (Joceline) of Bathurst, Denise McDonald (Dave LeBlanc), Yvon (Denise), Fernande McDonald, and Maurice (Diane) all of Bouctouche. He also leaves to mourn his twelve grandchildren, Nadine, Danielle, Ronnie, Lisa, Tina, Shawn, Jason, Sylvie, Michelle, Luc, Philippe, Mathieu, his four great grandchildren, Jacques, Jolène, Julie-Pier, and Chanie, his three brothers, Michael, Ronald (Jeannita) both of Bouctouche, Danny (Jeanne) of Cocagne, three sisters, Hélène Collette, Jeannita Cormier (Laurie) both of Bouctouche, and Aline Melanson of Moncton, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by one son Laurie (1967), three brothers, Camille, Emery, Roger, and two sisters, Edna, and Elizabeth "Bessy".
Visitation will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l'église, Bouctouche on Tuesday, May 4th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, and on Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In Johnny's memory donations can be made to the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital Foundation.
