The passing of Queenie Ethland (Fox) Dougherty, of Gagetown, NB, wife of the late Howard Dougherty occurred on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Boiestown, NB on January 24, 1927 she was a daughter of the late William and Julia (McCarty) Fox. Queenie enjoyed attending various church suppers. Queenie also loved travelling and dancing. Queenie is survived by three daughters, Brenda Jardine, Marlene (Jim) Dougherty Feaver and Sharon Dougherty all of Fredericton, NB; two sons, Milo (Dawn) Dougherty of Lincoln, NB and Kevin (Karen Ann) Dougherty of Fredericton, NB; two granddaughters Lisa Dougherty and Shyanne Feaver; four grandsons, Jomie Jardine, Ryan and Steven Dougherty and Brandon Feaver; two great grandchildren, Jana Jardine and Danielle Dougherty; two sisters, Lillian Young of Woodstock, NB and Gail DeLong of Nackawic, NB; special niece, Lynn Critchlow; several other nieces and nephews and very special companion, Bill Hurley. Besides her husband and parents, Queenie was predeceased by her brother, Lesley Fox and three sisters, Marion Sears, Delores Fox and Wanda Jones.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11 am with Rev. Paul Bannister officiating. Honourary Pallbearers for the service will be her grandsons. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
