It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Thomas 'Tommy' Charles MacNeil June 22, 2010.
Tommy was born on Oct. 18, 1947, in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. He was a lifelong resident of Millville, Nova Scotia. Tommy worked for the Department of Transportation and Public Works for 35 years, prior to retirement in 1997. Tommy enjoyed his retirement particularly spending time with his grandchildren. They were truly his greatest joy in life.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Maureen (Haley) MacNeil and his daughter, Patricia (Glen) Marchand; two grandchildren, Boyd and Mikaela Marchand, Eastern Passage; parents, John and Sadie MacNeil; two brothers, Johnny (Mary) MacNeil, Lewis (Wanda) MacNeil, all residents of Millville, and four nieces and two nephews.
He was predeceased by one nephew.
In respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home. Committal will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery June 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at Millville Community Center 12-2 p.m.
