It is with profound sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Andrew Brown in Elliot Lake on September 23, 2010, at the age of 70 years.
Andy moved from P.E.I. to Elliot Lake in 1967 where he was employed by Rio Algom as an electrician until his retirement in 1996. In 1972 he was joined by his bride, Patricia Proctor, also from P.E.I.
Andy was a dedicated curler for many years until his health dictated otherwise, he then was instrumental in the management of the ice plant and any other area that required his attention.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and siblings, Frank Brown and Edith Dubois (Barry), both of Sudbury, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Leo and Irene Brown; brothers, Joe, Eugene, Augustine, Roy, Leonard, Austin, Clifford; and his sister, Leona Belanger.
Also survived by his mother-in-law, Bernadette Proctor, brother-in-law, John Proctor, both of
P.E.I.; sisters-in-law, Rose and Louise Brown.
Although Andy loved his home and work in Elliot Lake where he met and shared many happy times with good friends, his heart never really left P.E.I. They both returned every summer to reunite with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held in P.E.I. at a later date.
