1928 ~ 2011

Kathleen Mary Puhallo (née Dance) passed away quietly on January 25, 2011 at the age of 82 years.

Kay is survived by her five children Sue (Jim), Pete (June), Pat (Gerd), Mike (Linda) and Gord (Diana); 11 grandchildren, JulieAnne (Mark), Steven (Jenn), Nicole (Jason), Katherine (Marc), Kristine (Murray), Paul (Marilee), Adam (Becky), Alan (Leeanne), Caroline, Sharlene and Sandra; and seven great grandchildren.
Kay is predeceased by siblings Art, Walter, Pat, Margie, and Win, and one grandson, Roy.

Kay is survived by brothers Dave (Viv) and George (Darlene) and sisters Marina and Myff (Les). Also by sister-in-laws Fran, Helen, Marg, Marie, and brother-in-law Norm.

Kay was born in Kamloops in 1928, and was married to Steve in 1948. They moved to the farm in Brocklehurst and then to Westsyde, where they raised beef cattle for a few years. She was active in many community affairs, including the Brock Rec Commission, Westsyde Trail Riders, Girl Guides and the 4-H movement. She had never missed a Provincial Winter Fair in 51 years and was a frequent buyer for different organizations. She was always a rancher at heart. Her most recent passions were the Kamloops Cowboy Festival, the Farmer's Markets in the summer, and working with the Kamloops Food Bank and Native Elder groups.

Family came first and foremost,
but friendships with young and old
were also treasured.
She was everyone's Gramma.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Wayne Dong for his gentle care.

A Memorial Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive, followed by a Celebration of Life Tea.

Donations may be made to the House of Ruth or will be accepted to establish a 4-H Bursary in Kay's memory.
