Born: August 28th, 1953

Passed in: Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
Passed on: May 15th, 2017

Born August 28, 1953 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, at St. Rita’s Hospital, Stan passed away peacefully on May 15, 2017 at St. Michael's Centre Hospice in Burnaby, BC after a valiant 1 1/2-year struggle with cancer.
He attended Holy Redeemer Schools, Sydney Academy and Dalhousie University. Stan came west with sister Leona and family to Calgary where he worked with C.P. Rail. Leaving the cold winters behind he chose the west coast and resided in Burnaby for over 30 years. He was employed by C.P. rail there also. He was a very generous, good natured person who was very private in his personal life. He explored many hobbies and interests from metal detection, panning for gold to collecting rocks and fossils. He also took calculus courses just for fun. He played tennis in a league and travelled by bicycle until he was no longer able to do so. Predeceased by his parents, Marian and Julia (Gniewek) Ardelli, and older brother, Greg.
Stan is survived by his sister, Leona Whitburn; husband, Bob, and their children and grandchildren. Also, his Gniewek, MacIntyre, Shepard and Siller Cousins. Funeral Services will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502 – 2 Street SW, Calgary) on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. Internment at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney, Nova Scotia on a later date.
"May the Angels lead you into Paradise Stan. Now you are at peace."
