Poppy D. passed peacefully away in the arms of his one true love, Maxine, surrounded by his 3 children and loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Gerard and Florence (Head). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories; his wife of 40 years Maxine (nee Breen), son Troy (Jacqueline), daughters Kimberly (Omar) and Ashley (Tony), 4 grandchildren; Amber (Ryan), Evan, Colby and Oliver and great-granddaughter Sophia Claire. Brothers Angus, Jerry and Wayne; sisters Mary, Christine Green (George), Louise, and Barb Connors (Greg); Ron and Beverly Walsh, Daphne Osmond along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours, especially Lorne and Janet Green, Leonard and Evelyn Power, Bill and Elaine Barnes. A special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dawn Armstrong "his favourite", Dr. McIsaac and the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, nurses Carmel Collins, Sandra White and Jeanne Keiley. Not to forget his faithful four-legged friend Toby. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Monday from 12 noon - 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the Church of the Good Shepherd, Mount Pearl.
