Mya Prouty

Prouty, Mya Darlene- It is with great sadness we announce the tragic passing of Mya on January 7, 2018 at Pubnico, Nova Scotia. Mya was born on November 10, 2010 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She is survived by her mother, Tamera (Anthony) Smith; father, Phillip Prouty Jr; sister, Maci; maternal grandparents, Tammy (Jeffrey) Atkinson, Alan (Ola) Hill, paternal grandparents, Louise (Albert) Fenton; aunts, Ashley (Tim) Ross, Candice Atkinson, Suzanne (Caden) Newell, Jessica (Brian) Crowell, Christine Hubley; uncles, Curtis (Breanne) Hill, Brydon (Ashlee) Atkinson, John Hubley, Craig (Jenny) Prouty, and Matthew Ross. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Phillip Prouty Sr.; aunt, Terra Lee and brother, Winston. Mya was a typical "Girly Girl" who loved to play dress-up, spend hours in front of the mirror putting on Nanny Wheezie's makeup, wear dresses at all occasions along with instructing other family members to wear dresses-especially when having tea parties. She loved music and dancing along to all her favorite singers - Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake to name a few. Mya couldn't wait for summer to come each year and would start asking "Is it summer yet" in March. She loved to go to the beach, to Seal Island with Nanny, Tam but her favorite thing was to go to Donna's cottage in Welshtown each summer. Mya couldn't wait for the weekend so she could come to Pubnico to spend time with her baby brother, Winston. She loved to stay overnight at Nanny Wheezie's where she ruled the roost. One of Mya's favorite & proudest things was being a big sister to Maci and Winston. She was a happy, caring, outgoing child who loved new adventures. Mya loved going on airplanes and enjoyed her once of a lifetime trip to Disney World. Even though Mya was only with us a short time, she brought so much joy into our lives. Mya will live on in our hearts forever and will be dearly missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know her. Visitation took place from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, January 20, followed by the memorial service at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 21, both at H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, Pastor Adam Renouf and Pastor Phil Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mental Health or the IWK.
