Mary Margaret (Nash) MacNeil

With profound sadness, we, the family, announce the passing of Mary Margaret (Nash) MacNeil of Grass Cove, Iona on July 8, 2018 at home. Mary Margaret was born on March 24, 1957 in Whitney Pier and was raised in Westmount. She was the eldest of the late John Peter and Agnes (Anderson) Nash.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; sisters, Debbie (Anthony) MacKinnon and son, Christopher, Sydney Forks, Patricia (Mike) MacNeil and son, Steven, Sydney and Linda Nash, Sydney, and brothers, Michael and Gerard, Sydney.
Upon graduating from Riverview Rural High School in 1975, Mary was employed with the Cape Breton Dairy. Mary was the most caring and kindest wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece and friend. She will be forever cherished and loved by her entire family.
Thank you to doctors, nurses, and staff of the C.B. Cancer Centre. Also, thank you to Dr. John Ritter and nurses, Cathy, Zelda, and Marilyn of Victoria County Memorial Hospital. A sincere Thank You to Dr. Chow for his years of dedicated service to Mary Margaret.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 13, at 2 p.m. at St. Columba Church, Iona, with Fr. Vargheese officiating. A light lunch will be served, following the funeral service at the parish hall. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and burial will take place at a later date.
Donations can be made to the C.B. Cancer Centre or a charity of choice.
