SURETTE, Amos Benjamin, 75, of Yarmouth, passed away August 10, 2018 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth he was a son to the late Fred and Rose (Muise) Surette. Amos worked at E&J Millworks for over 30 years and was a talented wood worker. He loved the New York Yankees and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was also a big fan of Elvis Presley. He will be remembered as a quiet person but very friendly to all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Frost); son, Derek (Trina Deion) Surette, Yarmouth; stepson, Darren (Karen Garrett) Welner, N.B.; step daughter, Shelley (Shannon Allen) Welner-Rose; brothers, Nelson (Eileen) Surette, Amirault’s Hill; Edward (Pat) Surette, Greenwood; Ricky Surette, Yarmouth; sister, Margaret Surette, Yarmouth; step grandchild, Shellisa Rose. Beside his parents he was predeceased by sister, Ann Comeau. Visitation was held Monday, August 13 ,2018 from 7-9 pm with prayers at 8 pm from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass took place Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 2 pm from St Ambrose Co Cathedral, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Burial followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund of the Tri County V.O.N.
