James Bryon "Jim" MacIntosh

James Bryon "Jim" MacINTOSH, age 94 of Baddeck and formerly of River Denys passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Edward and Sadie (MacDonald) MacIntosh. Jim was a member of Forbes United Church, River Denys. He was a veteran of World War ll and was the last surviving veteran of that war in the Whycocomagh area. He was a member of Sircom Lodge #66, Whycocomagh as well as Celtic Star Chapter #19 O.E.S. as well as a member of the Causeway Shriners and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 123, Whycocomagh. Jim worked as an electrician having his own company for many years. Jim was a true gentleman. He will be remembered for saying “Not bad for a young fella!” He was friends with children and was known to them as “High five Jim”. Surviving are his loving wife, Ann (MacIntosh); daughters, Lynda (Ken) Pollett, B.C.; Christine, Orangedale; son, Bryon, Angus, Ont; half-sister, Barbara, NL; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Neil and one in infancy; first wife, Margaret (Middlemiss). Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Monday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday from Forbes United Church, River Denys with Rev. Dale Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Fir Grove Cemetery, River Denys. Family flowers only please.
