Ann Landry-MacNeil 75, River Bourgeois passed away November 11, 2018 at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.
Born in Inverness, she was a daughter of the late, John “Jack” and Mary (MacKenzie) MacNeil.
Ann graduated from Holy Family High School, Inverness and went on to graduate from Dalhousie University. She taught for over 30 years in various communities around Cape Breton Island, including Bay St. Lawrence, Ingonish; Ann finished her career as a Math and Chemistry Teacher at St. Peter’s District High School. She was a devoted Parishioner of St. John the Baptist in River Bourgeois.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie; stepchildren, Henry (Vicki), California and Derrick, Ottawa; three step grandchildren; brothers, Francis, Inverness, Paul (Anne Marie), Shediac, N.B., John (Joanne), North Sydney and Jim (Edna), Milton, ON; sisters, Eileen Delaney, Inverness; Andrea Oulton, Halifax; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane MacNeil, Halifax and Vicki MacNeil, Inverness; and brother-in-law, George (Cathy) Landry. Ann will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by brothers, Ron, Gerard, and Dan; sister, Peggy, and sisters-in-law, Viola and Denise.
Resting in the River Bourgeois Visitation Parlor on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Yake presiding, burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery
Memorial donations may be made to Strait Richmond Hospital Foundation or to a Bursary Fund in Ann’s Memory.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
