With sadness, we, the family of Catherine (Taylor) Osmond, regret to announce her passing on Friday, March 29, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 13, 1960, in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Williston) Taylor.
Catherine loved traveling. She worked abroad, as well as independently to presently being a member of the Labour’s Union, Local 92. She loved being a mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, friend and confidant. Wholeheartedly, Catherine was all about her children, family and friends, who had a deep passion for reading, a love for cooking, baking, family gatherings and outings. She loved and lived life large with her own personal touch.
Catherine is survived by her sons, Billy Joe and Devin, Florence; daughter, Heather Carey, Groves Point; grandchildren, Billy Joe, Ryan and Jessica; sisters, Delores Boutilier, BC, Loretta (Gordon) Dawe, North Sydney, Carol Harding, North Sydney, Joanne, Sydney Mines, Brenda (Lawrence) Day, George’s River and Amanda (Ricardo), North Sydney; brothers, Lawrence (Patricia), NB, Alfie (Natalie) North Sydney and Michael, Sydney Mines; and her ex-husband and close friend, William Osmond, Florence; lifetime family friend, Peggy Marsh, Sydney Mines.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Billy.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Family Church, 9 MacKay St., Sydney Mines on Wednesday, April 3 at 10 a.m., with Rev. James Oliver officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date.
