Mary Elizabeth CAMERON (Skinner)

Mary Elizabeth CAMERON (Skinner)

Mary passed gently on April 6, 2019 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Amherst, she was the daughter of Marjorie and the late Sydney Skinner. Mary attended schools in Amherst prior to her marriage to former spouse Avard Cameron, providing support through many military postings across Canada. She was baptized at First Baptist Church at the age of 16 and remained a member since. She received love and purpose from her church family and was a proud Deacon and active participant on many church committees. She loved a good game of cards, table of bridge, curling and especially family gatherings at the cottage. She was proud of her family; sons Michael (Kate), Scott (Monica), Kevin (Raedene) and Jeff (Sabrina); grandchildren Tyler, Kelsey, Declan, Tarrell, Sadie, Sutton and a grandson excitedly anticipated in May; great grandsons Alaric and Elijah. She is also survived by her sister Debbie (Max) MacDonald; brothers David (Vicki), Ken (Dianna), Jim (Joanne), Tim (Debbie) and many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Family was important to her. As per her wishes, her life will be celebrated with a family gathering at the cottage in Lorneville in the summer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home in Amherst, 98 Church St. 902-667-9906. Those wishing to honor her memory by way of donation are encouraged to consider the First Baptist Church in Amherst or the Cumberland Hospice Society. The family is grateful for the caring and support of Dr. Kelly Morris, Dr. Scott Bowen and the nursing staffs at Cumberland Regional and the QEII.
You were loved.
