WRIGHT - Robert Franklin (Bob) - It is with great sadness the family of Robert Wright announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the age of 86. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Iva; two daughters Joanne Palecek (Ron), Donna Peters (Joe); three grandchildren Mark Palecek (Rosie), Janice Ewen (Chad) and Maddie Peters. He is also survived by his sister Marybelle Undseth and his brothers and sisters-in-law Kenneth and Frieda Bollinger, Walt and Myrtle Peters, Vernon and Rose Bollinger and Garry and Carolyn Langrish as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents Frank and Emma Fay Wright; his parents-in-law Eugene and Helen Bollinger; brothers and sisters-in-laws Don and Jean Reid, Lloyd Bollinger, Darwin Bollinger, Ken Undseth; and his nephews David Undseth and Ron Bollinger. Bob was born June 10, 1924 in Cabri, SK, the only son of Frank and Emma Fay Wright. Bob received his education at Ohioville School, Luther College and the School of Agriculture at the University of
Saskatchewan in 1948. Bob farmed with his dad until he married lva Bollinger in 1954 at which time they took over the family farm and raised their two daughters. Bob continued farming until the age of 70. Bob and Iva then retired in Swift Current. In October 2010 they moved to Regina. Bob was an active member of the Mount Hermon Masonic Lodge in Pennant and Swift Current Masonic Lodge. Bob was also on the board of directors for the Sask. Wheat Pool and the Pioneer Credit Union. He also served on the Pennant United Church Board. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Bob was very involved in all community activities. The funeral service took place at First United Church in Swift Current on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Barbara Wiebe officiating. The interment service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Swift Current. For those wishing donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
