New Glasgow - Muriel Geraldine “Gerry” Cantley, age 91, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, formerly of New Glasgow and Trenton, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019, in Pictou. Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Margaret (MacKay) Leadbetter. Gerry was a member of First United Church, Trenton; First United UCW; and a former Explorer and CGIT leader. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl LeBlanc, Pictou; grandchildren: Lisa (Wade), Lyons Brook; Billy (Colleen Dolan), Edmonton, AB; Russell, Pictou; 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas “Tites” Cantley; sister, Mildred McInnis; and son-in-law, Bill. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A public graveside service will be held at 2 pm Friday, in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Wade Reppert officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to First United Church or the SPCA.
