Barbara Ellen " Barb" MACDONALD

LINACY – Barbara Ellen “Barb” MacDonald, 78, Linacy, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. Born in Thorburn, she was a daughter of the late Alexander James Fraser and Donelda Jean (MacGregor) MacDonald. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton. Barb had been employed with the Pictou County CO-OP store, St. F.X. Extension Office and Michelin Tire. When her husband, Dougald, purchased Metro Mid-Town Taxi, she worked in the business with him until retirement. Barb’s life was centered around her faith, loving family and friends, her cherished pets, Roxie and Tucker. She enjoyed playing cards, rug hooking and attending musical events. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who now enjoys the promise of everlasting life. For Barb, “life has changed, not ended!” Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Dougald; daughter, Darlene (John) Reeves, MacLellans Brook; sons, Basil, West River; Vincent and daughter, Julianna, Thorburn; Glen (Leigh-Anne) and daughter, Jenna, Linacy; Phillip, Linacy; son-in-law, Kevin Campbell (Margo) and his sons, Jarret and Cody, Fraser’s Mountain; sisters, Vivian Scott, Toronto, Ont.; Dorothy Feltham, Truro; Nancy (Don) Snell, Merigomish; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughter, Cindy Campbell; sisters, Elsie and Annie in infancy; Ruth Jones; brother, Fred in infancy; brothers-in-law, Roy, Vern and Neil. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 30th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 31st in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson presiding. Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Thorburn. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Barb’s memory to St. Ann’s Cemetery or Canadian Cancer Society. www.pkmacdonald.ca
