Myrna Ann JORDAN

Truro - It is with saddened hearts that the family of Myrna Jordan announces her passing on May 15, 2019 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born the only girl of three children to the late Lawrence and Eva Mae (MacPhee) Bowman in Nine Mile River, she began her career in that area teaching school in a one room schoolhouse. Myrna then settled in the Margolians store on Inglis using her accounting skills as Controller for more than forty years until her retirement. Her job was important to her and she worked long, countless hours, but not as important to her as her family. She sacrificed everything for her children. She wed Mel in 1973 and was happily married until his passing in 2006. Myrna adored sunny beaches, traveling and reading. She had a passion for animals and was particularly fond of Randy’s dog, Mikey, who was always excited by her visits. She had many friends but two very special ones in Margie Flemming and Judy Archibald. Margie, whom she knew for many years, continued to be a loyal friend, even as her own health declined. Judy stood-in as a true friend, visiting frequently and taking photos as the family celebrated many holidays. She was the contact person if family was not available. Myrna is lovingly survived by her daughter, Kelly Johnson; son, Randy (Valerie); grandchildren, Melissa Johnson and Lacey Corkum as well as many Jordan relatives. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Melvin William Jordan and brothers, Laurie and Leo. A visitation was held on Friday, May 17th with a funeral service on Saturday, May 18th both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiated. A reception followed. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations in Myrna’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
