Brent Wheeliker

Born In: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Born: December 7th, 1969

Passed in: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Passed on: June 4th, 2019

We are saddened and heart-broken to announce the passing of our beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, in-law and friend, Robert Brent Wheeliker on June 4, 2019. Brent was born December 7, 1969 to his parents Marilyn (Cunningham) and the late George Wheeliker of Louisbourg, NS.
Brent is survived by his wife, Christie (Lyall), whom he adored with all his heart; his mother, Marilyn; his sisters, Colleen (John Hugh) and Heather (Barry); his brother, Ian (Louise); father-in-law, Jim Lyall; brother-in-law, Jim (Mary), as well as a niece, several nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and so many dear friends and colleagues, all of whom had great love and respect for Brent, as he did for them.
He was predeceased by his father, George; mother-in-Law, Doreen, and grandparents, McNeil and Cunningham.
Born in Ottawa, he moved with his family to Louisbourg, Cape Breton, NS when he was eight. After graduating high school, he managed the local Irving garage and then onto Halifax for a short stint at Dalhousie U before heading west. After a few tours of the province, Brent settled in Calgary, AB where he met and married the love of his life, Christie, whom he lovingly called, “Sparkles.” He loved animals, and especially his fur baby “Fat Willy.” He accumulated much knowledge and experience through his various roles in his journey through life that brought him to his proudest pinnacle when, recently, he opened his own consulting company, appropriately named “Integrity Aggregate.” There was nothing Brent couldn’t do, a cook, a mechanic, a builder, a sailor, nothing was too great a challenge for him.
Brent fought hard to keep his cancer at bay, but it eventually took him from us. We will miss his humour, his easy-going attitude, his love for family, friends and for life itself. May his beautiful soul rest in peace.
Service will be held at McDougall United Church, 8516 Athabasca St. S.E., Calgary AB, Friday June 14 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the Church hall.
