Mary Henrietta MacMullin

Passed on: June 21st, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the late Mary Henrietta MacMullin, 75, on June 21, 2019. God has called his angel back home. Born in Sydney Mines on October 10, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Rodena (MacKinnon) Roland.
Henrietta had an especially kind and gentle heart, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Henrietta loved everybody she met, and everyone that knew her loved her as well. When you came to her house, she would always greet you with a big smile, a hot cup of tea, warm conversation, and a hearty snack.
With Henrietta, family always came first. Spending time with family was her greatest pleasure in life and she had unlimited love, support, and wisdom to offer us.
Henrietta worked for many years at the People's Store in North Sydney. She took great pride in her work and found immense pleasure in helping people. Henrietta was a woman of great faith. She was a long-time member of the choir, and of the Catholic Women's League, of Immaculate Conception Church in Sydney Mines. She was an active member of the Holy Family Parish Choir and cherished her fellow choir participants dearly.
Henrietta loved to sing and entertain. In her younger years, she and her husband Art would play at house parties; she would sing while Art accompanied her on the guitar. Together they made quite a team. Henrietta loved doing Sudoku and Word Jumble puzzles in her spare time; the harder the better.
Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, and her Christmas dinners and parties were legendary. She was a member of the Cape Breton Antique and Custom Car Club. Henrietta enjoyed staying active with her daily walks, yoga, dancing, and rebounding.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Arthur MacMullin, after 54 years of marriage; sons, Kris and Kevin (Tammy); grandchildren, Richard (Natalie) and Cynthia. She is also survived by her brothers, Leon, Jeremiah, Sheldon and Michael.
She is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Rodena; her stepfather, Peter, and grandson, Mark, who died in infancy.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who stopped by to visit her in her time of illness and for the cards, gifts, food, love and support.
You made the world a little nicer place to be. You touched our hearts and enriched our lives with your love. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Mary Henrietta MacMullin will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Holy Family Church in Sydney Mines with Father Oliver officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
