The death occurred at the home of Joan and René Doiron, North Rustico, on Friday, September 4, 2009, of Estelle Doiron, wife of the late Alban Peters and Urbain Doiron, in her 91st year.
Estelle was the loving mother of Leo, Bernice Doucette (David), Anne Griffin (Wilfred), Leonard (Jane), Inez Doiron (Ron), Eric (Maureen), Marina Doiron (Fred), Joan Doiron (René), Frances Gallant (Eric), Sandra Burke; and stepchildren, René (Joan), Eric (Lorraine), Edgar (Cecilia), Michelle Gallant (Bernie), Claude (Nancy), Claudette Harris (Stephen) and Denise Graham (Darren). She was the special Grannie of 54 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by sisters, Lena Quinn, Louise (Jerry Arsenault), Yvonne Larkin (Rollie), and brother, Lionel (Shirley); sisters-in-law, Lauretta, Helen, Pauline and Marie; daughter-in-law, Donna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her two husbands, Alban Peters and Urbain Doiron, Estelle was predeceased by her parents, Angus and Mary Doiron; son, Joseph, in infancy; brothers, John, Joe, Edward, Vincent and Ivan; sister, Imelda; daughter-in-law, Sheila Peters; great-granddaughters, Megan Dumville, and Leanne Doiron in infancy; sister-in-law, Alice; and brothers-in-law, James Quinn and Earle Larkin.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538, Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, September 6, 2009, 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
The CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Hope River, on Monday, September 7, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Anne’s Church Cemetery.
Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Estelle’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated.
