McCARTHY, IDA - Surrounded by her loving family, Ida McCarthy of Perth-Andover passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital on June 14, 2011. Born in Siegas, NB on January 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Michaud) Beaulieu. Ida leaves behind her daughters Julia Solomon (Sherry-Lynn Gagnon) of Westmanland, ME, Cynthia Towers (Frank Rolerson) of Rockland, ME, Janet Barfield (Willie) of Charlotte, NC; her sons Roland Beaulieu (fiancee Marie-May St-Jarre) and Alan McCarthy of New Sweden, ME; her brother Albert Beaulieu (Jean) of Plaster Rock; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Ida was predeceased by her parents; her loving and loved companion of 20 years, Sheldon Plant; daughters Louise Vallance and Joanne Putman; grandson Jamie McDermott-Vallance; sisters Georgette Cote and Viola Menard; and two brothers Guy and Wilbrod Cote.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Friday 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 1 pm from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father Curtis Sappier will celebrate. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Limestone Siding. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tree of Hope or to a local World Youth Day fundraiser would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
