Born In: Rawa-Ruscia, Ukraine
Born: December 12th, 1938

Passed in: Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada
Passed on: August 3rd, 2011

Andrey Lucyszyn was born on December 12, 1938 in Rawa-Rusica, Ukraine. He attended the Thomas Huxley College in England. It was here that he took his teaching degree. During this time he played an active role in the college acting club and Russian dancing club. He received a great deal of recognition for the parts he played in and had his picture in the newspapers more than once for his great performance.
Andrey did some modeling for a clothing company in his younger years with many pictures to show for it. He also loved to travel. He traveled all over Europe and learned to speak and write six different languages.
Andrey arrived in the Peace Country in 1977 and began to teach at McLeod Elementary School. He played an active role in coaching soccer and made some long lasting friendships with most of his pupils. He liked to take his pupils picking bottles every spring and he and the students would donate all the money raised to the Rotary Manor in Dawson Creek. He always encouraged his pupils to respect and help the elderly whenever they could.
He loved the outdoors. He loved to go boating, canoeing, hunting and picking wild mushrooms. Many of these adventures were with his colleges or former students that he had stayed friends with over the years. Andrey was a very well mannered gentleman.
For those of us that knew him well, he will be sadly missed.
Andrey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in Rotary Manor, Dawson Creek, B.C. at the age of 72 years. With respect to Andrey’s wishes no formal funeral service will be held.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium.
