Grant E. Donnell of Dieppe, N.B., passed away suddenly as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at the age of 61. Born in O’Leary, P.E.I., on Aug. 29, 1950, he was the son of the late Amedie and Marion (Saunders) Donelle. Grant is survived by his loving wife Sandra (MacDonald) Donnell of Dieppe, daughters Stacey (Wendell) Deagle, and Kerri Donnell; grandchildren Tyler Grant Donnell, Morgan Donnell-Costain, Madison Donnell-Costain, and Spencer Deagle; sisters Dorothy (late Ivan) Shaw, Anne (Alden) Newson, sister-in-law Avis (MacDonald) Newson, all residing in Prince Edward Island; brother-in-law Everett (Janice) MacDonald of Ontario. Grant is also survived by a large circle of friends. A memorial service celebrating Grant’s life will be held at Alberton Baptist Church in Alberton, P.E.I., on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. Reception to follow at the church. The family would like to thank Codiac RCMP, SLH Transport Inc., Pastor Ross Morrison, and many family members and friends for their love, support, and generosity. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
