Our loving husband, father and grandfather, Thomas W. Gallagher, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 1, 2012 at the age of 79. He was a man of vision, courage, grace and strength who touched all of our lives with his warmth, faith and generosity.
Tom was born April 18, 1932 in Moose Jaw SK. and married the love of his life, Florence Sesula, on Oct. 15, 1955. Together they strengthened their corner of the world. Committed to, and passionate about both his family and his profession, Tom dedicated 35 years of his life to the Province of Saskatchewan in various work roles, most recently as Exec. Dir. of Public Works.
Predeceased by his father Tom in 1954; his mother Mary in 2000; a brother in infancy; mother and father-in-law Ernst and Emily Sesula and in-laws Olga, Edwin, Leo, Alfred, Bill, Stan and recently, Alvin. His legacy lives on through his wife "Ses", and his children: Teresa (Gaylord) Styles; Thomas (Roberta) Gallagher; Sharon (Gary) Compton; Susan Gallagher (Alex Pozsonyi) - all of Saskatoon - as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Tom is also survived by his brother Lawrence (Leslie) - Moose Jaw; and his sisters Lorraine Grondin - Biggar, Marie (Frank) Scheirich - Saskatoon, and Shirley (Ian) Mckay - Regina, as well as in-laws Gerty Tokaruk, Irma Stenzel, Edward Sesula and Raymond (Marva) Sesula of Regina and Edmund Sesula and Emma (Don) Hussey of Swift Current.
The family expresses a special thanks to Dr. Wojcik, Dr. McMillan and Dr. Abdulla for their care throughout the years; the caregivers at the Regina General Hospital and the Palliative Care/Home Care team for their support and kindness which made our father's passing so much easier. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Resurrection Parish, 3115 Windsor Park Road, Regina, SK. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at 10:00 am with the viewing of the body beginning at 9:30. A lunch will follow in the church hall. A Prayer Service and Interment will take place at Hillcrest Funeral Home, R.R. #5, Site 510 Saskatoon, SK beginning at 4:00 pm on Friday, Feb. 10 with lunch to follow.
If so desired, memorial donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of SK., The Cancer Society of SK. or the Lung Assoc. of SK. would be appreciated.
