HAROLD HILDEBRANDT On Monday, January 29, 2007 Harold passed away peacefully at the age of 76 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife Heather in 1990, his brother Edward, and his two sisters Mary and Teresa. Harold is survived by his daughters Coleen (Richard) Olson of Slave Lake, Alberta and Janice of Salmon Arm and his son Brett (Brenda) of Kelowna as well as eight grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers, sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold was born May 14, 1930 in Hague, Saskatchewan, one of 14 children. At the age of 15 years, Harold left home, living in many places in Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan. He had many interesting occupations including, ranch hand, dairyman, nursing aide at Essondale, CPR trimmer, axeman, dock worker and welder and was working for the Department of Highway at his retirement. He was a "jack of all trades", completing two homes for his family. Harold had two major loves in his life: Heather and music. He married Heather in 1954. Many years were spent singing in Barbershop Chorus, and he was the President of the Langley Barbershop Chorus, at one time. When they lived in Tappen, they would drive into Kamloops; he would sing with the Kamloops Rangemen and Heather would sing with the Sweet Adelines. He was a member of the Hub City Singers and also enjoyed his evenings at Karaoke. A Celebration of Harold's life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Pastor Don Maione officiating.
