GRAVES, Lila May Victoria (Hatt) peacefully left us to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Grand View Manor in Berwick with her family by her side. Lila was the daughter of the late Claude and Eileen (Parker) Hatt. She was born in Clarence, NS on May 24, 1931. Lila grew up in Forest Glade, NS and later graduated from Provincial Normal College with a teaching diploma in June 1950. She taught school before and after her marriage, in Port George, Forest Glade, Margaretsville and Harmony among other places. Lila was a caring person always thinking of others and willing to help others, especially using her skills in Reflexology. She loved gardening and spent countless hours tending to her many indoor and outdoor plants and flowers. Lila enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Canadian and Americian destinations, as well as the United Kingdom. She was especially impressed with the trip to Australia. Lila is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald, Grand View Manor, Berwick; sons, Philip (Jo-Ann) and Stephen (Kathy), both of Harmony; James (Christine), Berwick; son-in-law, Dale Marshall, Morden; grandchildren, Stewart, Daniel, Shannon, Becky, Candice, Sarah, Amanda, Esther and Andrew as well as one newly arrived great grandchild, Anna. She is also survived by brothers, Gerald (Gladys), Calgary, AB; Donald (Hazel), Bakers Settlement; Wayne (Elizabeth) Guelph, ON; sisters, Helen (Shirley) Guest, Bakers Settlement; Evelyn (Chris) Stutters, Peachland, BC, as well as step mother, Margaret, Westbank, BC and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lila was predeceased by daughter, Ruth Marshall, infant grandchildren, Christopher and Lisa; sister, Anna Hatt; infant sister, Valerie; sister-in-law, Pearl Hatt and niece, Glenda Hatt. Visitation was held 7:00 to 9:00PM, Friday, March 16, 2012 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service was held 2:00PM Saturday, March 17, 2012 with Mr. Albert Hull officiating. Interment in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. By request, family flowers only. Donations in Lila’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Grand View Manor.
