HILL, Alice Myrtle – 90, Hilltown, Digby Co., passed away peacefully on April 16 in the Digby General Hospital. Born on February 20, 1922 in Ashmore, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Eva (Brittain) Lombard. At the age of twenty she married Bennett Hill and moved to Hilltown. She was a homemaker her entire life, raising 15 children. She enjoyed listening to music, collecting dolls, gardening, raising animals and visits from her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Howard Hill, Marion (Walter Wiles) Mullen, Betty Hill, Emily Mullen, all of Hilltown, Joe (Louise) Hill, St. Martin; Robert Hill, Hilltown; Arnold (Jeanette) Hill, Meteghan; Carol (Curtis) Mullen, Weymouth; Burgess Hill, Hilltown; Brian (Anita) Hill, Havelock; Danny (Amanda) Hill, Hilltown; Brenda (Jerry) Saulnier, Meteghan Center and David Hill, Hilltown. She is survived by sisters, Carole (Floyd) Melanson and Dorothy Moore; brothers Stanley Lombard, Arnold (June) Lombard and Alexander Lombard Jr.; 31grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her first husband Bennett Hill, her second husband Joseph Amirault and third husband Phillip Doucet; a daughter, Joyce Hill; a son Gorden Hill and grandsons Jason Hill and Justin Melanson; great grandson, Christian Dugas; brothers, Russel Lombard, Richard Lombard, Donald Lombard, Chester Lombard; sisters Evalina Hill, Belle Manzer, Goldie Andrews and Mabel Maine. The family would like to thank the nurses at the Digby General Hospital and the nurses and staff of Tideview Terrace for their care for mom. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium Ltd., Yarmouth. A memorial service was held at the Bethal United Baptist Church, Ashmore, on Friday April 20th at 1 p.m. with Rev. Fred Bigelow officiating. Interment was at Lakeside Cemetery in Havelock. Donations in memory of Alice can be made to a charity of your choice.
