GOFFINET-DOUVILLE: Yvette Goffinet-Douville age 84 yrs. of Ponteix, SK passed away May 15, 2912 at the Foyer St. Joseph in Ponteix. The funeral mass was held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church, Ponteix, with Father Keith Heiberg officiating. The organist was Carrie Stoesz-Johnson and the soloist was Jean-Louis Bleau. Eulogists were Jean-Louis and Jamie Bleau. The pallbearers were: Francis Dumonceau, Verne Dumonceau, Trevor Goffinet, Curtis Goffinet, Greg Goffinet, Bryan Goffinet, Jamie Bleau and Ryan Bleau. The Cross Bearer was Terry Dumonceau. The interment service took place at the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery at Ponteix. Yvette is survived by six children: Rose (Ron) Harker of Medicine Hat, AB and her five children; daughter-in-law Margaret Goffinet of Ponteix and her four children; Margo (Rick) Bleau of Medicine Hat, AB and their three children; Louise (Barry) Roberts of Innisfail, AB and her three children; Jeanne (Ken) Letcher of Rocky Mountain House; Roger (Karen) Goffinet of Ponteix and their three children - a total of 18 grandkids and thirty three great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister Antoinette Folk of Ponteix and a brother Eugene Lachance of Sunnybrook, AB. The deceased was predeceased by her husband Joseph Goffinet in 1989 and her second husband Paul Douville in 2004. Her son Paul Goffinet in February of 2007; six biological siblings and four adopted siblings. Yvette was born on December 5th, 1927 at Gabriel Hospital in Ponteix. She attended school in Ponteix and on April 12, 1945 she married Joseph Goffinet. Her second marriage to Paul Douville was on January 6, 1996. Yvette was a homemaker all her life. She was a member of the CWL and the Legion Ladies Auxilliary in Ponteix. Yvette was always sports-minded. While attending school she couldn't wait for the last bell to ring to scamper to the skating rink, so she and a friend could play hockey with the boys. She also loved to golf, bowl, curl and played baseball. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and quilting. She loved to play the organ, accordion, guitar and auto-harp. She enjoyed singing with church choir and Inter-faith choir. As well as sitting around singing around home. Memorial donations to the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home, Ponteix would be appreciated by the family. Lemieux Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
