Wagner, Marion Elizabeth, age 88, Digby, passed away peacefully June 8, 2012 in the Digby General Hospital. Born in Annapolis Royal she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Lillian (Melanson) Lewis. Marion served in the Canadian Army from 1943-1947 and trained at Camp Aldershot, Kentville. She loved all of her grandchildren and could name them all. She made sure they all got a birthday card and Christmas gifts. She loved playing 45’s, doing puzzles and reading her love stories. She often spoke about all of her distant relatives. She is survived by sons David (Lorraine) Wagner, Mount Uniacke; Thomas (Rose) Wagner , Hammonds Plains; daughters Marie Robicheau (Rodney Bell), Digby; Margaret Surette (Howard McKinnon), Kingston; Susan (David) Bent, Digby; granddaughter Wanda Wagner, Digby; brother Wilfred Lewis, Florida; sisters Kaye (Leo) Norman, and Florence Lewis, Bedford; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, grandson Jeffrey Surette, brothers Earl, Gordon and Willard Lewis and a sister Pearl. Visitation was held from 7-9pm Sunday, June 10 at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. The funeral service was held Monday, June 11 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Digby. Father Keith Billard officiated with interment in Madonna Cemetery, Marshalltown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to the IWK, Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Cystic Fibrosis Society.
