ANGELA DESMOND (nee POELZER) February 16, 1938 ~ September 6, 2008 Angela Margaret Desmond entered Eternal Life at 70 years of age, on September 6, 2008. She was the eleventh of twelve children born on a farm near Humboldt, Saskatchewan, to Elizabeth and Michael Poelzer. She came to Kamloops with her parents in 1953, at the age of 15. After graduating from Sion Academy (Saskatoon) and U.B.C., she worked as a gifted teacher and as an advocate of Catholic Education in the Kamloops Diocese for many years. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, and a woman of deep faith. Though not a nurse by profession, Angela was able to fulfill her desire to care for the sick during her 14 years of leadership and volunteer service in hospital ministry. She generously and lovingly cared for the spiritual needs of patients and their families at Royal Inland Hospital. Her assertive personality made her someone who could get things done. In 1966, she married Timothy Desmond, her loving husband of 42 years. She was very proud of her four children; Maureen (Dominique Raymond), Paula (David Ziebart), Sheila, and Michael. Some of her greatest joy came from her seven grandchildren; Gabrielle, Nathan, Samuel, Justin, Rachel, Anya and Elyse. Her memory is cherished
