Nolan, Ronald Arden “Sooty” - 74, North River passed away February 15, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Glenholme, he was a son of the late Elva Brown. He owned and operated Ron’s Burner Service for 33 years. Ron was a member of the North River & District Fire Brigade. He was a kind and caring person who would do almost anything for someone in need. His greatest treasures were his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Leamont); daughters, Judi (John) Spicer, Bahrain, Rhonda Dunn (Jeff Lewis) North River; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Stephen; sisters, Pat Spence (Lyle), Great Village, Sally (Bill) Cruikshank; brother, Michael (Joyce) Brown, River John, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Peggy (Margaret), Karen; brother, Gary. No visitation by request. A North River & District Fire Brigade Tribute will be held on Thursday, February 18th at 3:00 pm followed by a memorial service, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Cheryl MacDonald officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North River Fire Brigade or charity of choice.
