FRASER, VERNA M. - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Verna M. Fraser, 68, of Moncton, beloved wife of the late Ray H. Fraser (March 9, 2013). A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, June 7, 2013. Born in Upper Rexton, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Margaret (MacPherson) Stewart. Verna was a retired LPN at the Moncton Hospital and was a graduate of UNB. She was a former secretary of R. Fraser Landscaping Ltd. Verna was an avid harness racing fan and she and her late husband Ray raised and raced horses. She enjoyed gardening and life with her family, especially with her grandsons, watching them play hockey and attending all their sporting events. Verna will be sadly missed by her children, Cindy Fraser, Heather Warren-Whyte (Tyson) and Kevin Fraser (Lisa), all of Moncton; precious grandsons, Brian Warren (Jenn), Brent Warren, Tyler, Charles and Travis Fraser and Alex Arseneau, all of Moncton; cherished great-grandson, Hudson Warren; sister, Joyce Walls of Hamilton, ON; brother, Allan Stewart (Colleen) of Moncton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Ray, she was predeceased by sisters, Ruth and Eileen; son-in-law, Thomas Warren (2007).
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 1:30 pm with the Rev. Liz Wall officiating. Reception in the funeral home reception centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Verna’s memory, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (Oncology) or a memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
