Mary Evelyn Mercer
MERCER, MARY EVELYN - Mary Evelyn Mercer passed away after a brief illness at the Kennebec Manor Nursing Home on Monday, July 22, 2013. Evelyn was born in Saint John in 1939 and was the daughter of the late Gordon and Dorothy (Stevens) Sullivan. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her special parents William Nobles and Margaret Stevens; husband Donald Stewart Mercer, sisters Jean Lamb, Dorothy Ann Sullivan, and special sister Judy Nobles-McIlveen. She is survived by her brothers Art Sullivan (Sheila) of Saint John and Raymond Sullivan (Heather) of Panama; sister Helen Beyea (Dencer) of Saint John and special sister Katherine Nobles McCoombs (Garth) of Fredericton; many cousins, several nieces and nephews; two joys of her life Cory and Sara McCoombs; special mention to Carol Ann and Garnet Hagerman who have done so much for her; Goddaughter Stacey Hagerman and special friend Serena.
By request there will be no visitations. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated from St. John the Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Kennebec Manor Nursing Home.
