It is with great sadness that the family of the late Derek Alexander Hutchings announces his passing on Monday, September 23rd, 2013, at his family residence in Deer Lake, at the age of 63. He will be sadly missed with fond and loving memories by his daughter Jennifer Wilcox (Codi Rose); step son Dixon (Stacey) Wilcox; brothers: William; Creston, Neil (Hilda); Deer Lake, Graham; St John’s, Wilson (Linda); Ottawa, ON and Eric (Cheryl); Sackville, NS; nieces: Lori (Greg); Deer Lake, Lana (Everett); Pasadena, Lynn (Rick); Shoal Harbour, Alison (Greg); New Glasgow, NS and his nephew Terry of Petawawa, ON. He was predeceased by his mother Olga and his father George. Cremation has taken place from the Humber Valley Crematorium. Visitation will be held on Friday September 27th, 2013 from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Deer Lake from 2-4 PM and will immediately be followed by a funeral service continuing at the Funeral Home with The Rt. Rev Donald Young officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Farm Road. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to MS Society of NL.
