It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Tim Worthington, 53, of Gardiner Mines.
Tim passed away on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Glace Bay, Tim was the son of Ruth (Warren) and the late Thomas Worthington.
He was employed with McDonald’s restaurant as area supervisor for over 20 years. Tim was a true Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed collecting hockey memorabilia; he also had interests in golf and motorcycles. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball.
Tim loved to spend time with his family and they meant the world to him.
Tim will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Darlene (Gouthro); daughters, Brittany, Rebecca and son, Thomas; all at home; mother, Ruth Worthington; sisters, Cindy, Debbie; special niece, Melissa; nieces, Carol, Rosie; nephews, Matthew, Quinn, Coady. Also surviving are father-in-law, Doug Gouthro, Gardiner Mines; brother-in-law, John (Donna) Gouthro; sisters-in-law, Shauna (Derrick) Hanson, Lois (Germain) Rioux; all of Ottawa. He will also be sadly missed by numerous friends and co-workers.
Tim was predeceased by his father, Thomas Worthington and mother-in-law, Audrey Gouthro.
Visitation for Tim Worthington will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22 , 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Gardiner Mines. A luncheon will follow at St. Joseph’s Church Hall.
Donations in Tim’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
