Peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, surrounded with the love and support of her loving family of Evelyn Mary Gaudet, of 224 Sunset Drive, Tignish, age 84 years. Born at St. Roch, P.E.I., on September 12, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Oville and Margaret (nee Martin) Chaisson. Loving mother to Joanne (Wayne) Gaudet of Tignish; Donna Gaudet (Chris) of Vancouver, B.C.; Debbie (Pappy) Gallant of Miminegash; Janice (Lenny) Lachnit of Niagara Falls, Ont.; Blair (Marcella) of Tignish; Dale (Faye) of Tignish; and Rene (Michelle) of Nail Pond. She is also survived by the father of her children, Arnold (Arnie) Gaudet of Tignish. Cherished grandmother to: Trevor, Alden and Holly Gaudet, Darryl and T.J. MacCallum, Trent, Cynthia, Tyrell Gallant, Heidi Gaudet, Vanessa Lachnit, Felicia, Nicholas, Randy and Katie Gaudet, and Kayla Sellick. Great-grandmother to Brianna Costain, Maverick McCue, Keagan MacCallum, Morgan Gaudet and Isaac Gaudet, Mattie and Brandon Leard, Zack Gaudet, Brooke and Summer Bernard, McKayla and Mya Gallant, Pacey and Harley Perry. Dear sister to Beatrice Buote of St. Roch; Clarence Chaisson of St. Roch; Louise Gavin of Alberton; Lucy McHugh of Tignish; Alma Savage of Victoria Harbour, Ont.; Thelma (Stuart) Arsenault of Scarborough. Ont.; Nelson Claisson of Saint John, N.B; and Roger (Doreen) Chaisson of Tignish. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her two sons, Alden and Randy. Also predeceased by brothers-in-law, Joe Buote, William Gavin and Billy McHugh. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tignish Council of the CWL will hold prayers at the funeral home Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. Funeral on Saturday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery. If so desired, memorials to the P.E.I. Kidney Foundation, the P.E.I. Lung Association or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated.
