Passed on: June 28th, 2014

Larry Wayne Gould, of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away at home on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the age of 70 years.

Larry was born on April 12, 1944 in Saskatoon, SK. His early years were spent in the Northern Pine, SK area and later moved to Goodlow, BC as a teen. He worked for a local farmer for 6 years and then he spent 20+ years working in the oil patch in the Fort St. John, BC, area until he moved to Valleyview in the 1980’s. From there he moved to Grande Prairie in 2003. Larry could drive anything with wheels (or tracks) and a motor, but in his heart, he was always a farmer. He loved to drive trucks, heavy equipment and anything farm related. He loved travelling and would find any reason to make a road trip. Always willing to lend a hand helping anyone, Larry touched a lot of lives and made everyone smile when he came around. He was always the joker and willing to poke fun at himself. Larry was dedicated to his sobriety and helped anyone willing to quit their addictions. His 26 years of sobriety were a source of pride for him. Larry was most proud of his family and always made time to visit and travel to most family events. He also enjoyed the two winters he spent in Yuma, Arizona.

Larry will be greatly missed by his wife of 48 years, Coleen, his three children: Trevor, Troy (Jenny) of Fort St. John and Lara (Justin) of Grande Prairie; his 8 grandchildren: Rayna, Gavin, Parker, Riley, Dylan, Keaton, Chesney and Chaney. He is also survived by his sisters: Julia, Joy, Valree (Bill) and Audree (Randy); brothers: Gerry (Marilyn) and Terry (Claudette); sister in-law Susan, the Rempel family and numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was predeceased by his brother Fred, brother in-law Gordon Watchel and his parents Percy and Iva.

The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2:00pm at Five Mile Hall in Grande Prairie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grande Prairie Home Care (Virene Building 10121 97 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 0N5), or to a charity of one’s choice.
