KING, Doris Julia - Age 101, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Sheila (Hedges) Anderson and son-in-law, Gordon on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Born in Carbonear, NL on October 21, 1912, she was the daughter of the late James and Emma (Pike) Burden and step-mother, Elizabeth (Rowe) Burden of Carbonear, NL. Left with loving memories are four generations of extended family, including her daughter, Shelia Anderson (Gordon); son, George Burden (Barbara); grandchildren, Stephen Anderson (Monica), Paul Anderson (Brenda), Donna Schlacter (Patrick), Karen Comerford (John), Linda Boland (John), Paul Burden (Tina), David Burden (Margie); several great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; cousin, Eugene Burden (Eileen); in-laws, Lawrence King, Helen Bryenton and Audrey Greenham. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by husbands, Howard Hedges of Grand Falls, NL and Frederick King of Manitoba. A private family graveside service will take place at Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
