KESWICK, THOMAS "TOM" J. - Thomas “Tom” J. Keswick, 74, of Moncton, passed away peacefully upon arrival at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, January 9, 2015. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Thomas and Muriel (Marr) Keswick. Tom was a retired CNR electrician with over 30 years’ service, he attended Moncton Community College where he received his journeyman papers which enabled him to work mostly in Goose Bay and Labrador. He was a member of Central United Church, loved spending time at the cottage in Shediac, enjoyed golfing at Pine Needles Golf and Country Club, playing hockey in the winter with the “Nifty Fifty”, was past president of the Moncton Lions Club, past off ice official for the American Hockey League, formerly involved in Moncton Minor Hockey and baseball, managed and coached the Teachers hockey team, volunteered at Moncton Headstart and was an active donor to the Karing Kitchen at St. John’s United Church. Tom was always there for anyone that needed help and he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Tom will be sadly missed by his daughter, Kim Deveau (Randy Pitts) of Dartmouth, NS; son, Kevin Cormier (Trudy Vautour) of Moncton; grandchildren, Natasha, Jason and Nathan; sister, Sheila Fraser of Moncton; several sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (Stevens) Keswick (2009); sister, Marilyn O’Neil; father in law, Russell Stevens; mother in law, Mary Corney and niece, Brenda Fraser.
A Service to Celebrate Tom’s Life will be held at Central United Church (150 Queen St.) on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm with The Reverend Dr. Jim MacDonald officiating. Reception to follow the service. Interment will be held in Grey’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, in the spring.
