Frank Watt Atkinson
Atkinson, Frank Watt – 81 of Truro, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, January 30, 2015 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Jacquet River, N.B. December 29, 1933 he was the son of the late Earle and Ella (Watt) Atkinson. Frank enjoyed time with his family at his favorite place, “the camp” on Taylor Lake in Earltown, N.S. Frank was well known in the tire industry. He started working in the early 1950’s. His career began in Truro at Andy’s Tire Shop. He later left in 1973 to start A & B Tires LTD with a partner in Lower Sackville, N.S. This led to the local business of A-1 Tires Limited in 1978 and joined in ownership in 1984 by his three sons to present date. He will be sadly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Florence G. (Wynn); three sons, Earle (Shelly), Ross (Sandra) and Joseph (Susan); grandchildren, Alisha, Alan, Matthew, Melissa and Bret. He was predeceased by sisters, Jean Allen and Helen Porter. By family request, there will be no visitation or service. Interment to take place at a later date at Robie Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church or Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
