WELNER, FREDA BERNICE (née ETTIGER)
It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of Freda Bernice Welner (née Ettinger), 83, of Moncton, with loving members of her family at her side, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Born in Georgefield, NS, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Mildred (MacFetridge) Ettinger.
Freda was a former employee of Kmart, Moncton and the Red Cross (homemaker) and was a member of the Moncton Legion Branch #6, where she loved to spend her time dancing. Freda enjoyed singing, playing guitar, quilting, gardening, berry picking and relished her time with family and friends.
Freda will be sadly missed by her children, Rick Welner (Pauline) of Whitby, ON, Terry Welner (Linda Morgan) of Jasper, AB, Debbie Bryanton (Gerald) of Summerside, PE, Marilyn Seabrook (late Raymond) of Bonita Springs, FL, Heather Carlson of Stouffville, ON, Sandra Welner and Karen Henderson (Brian), both of Riverview, Bernice Chaisson (Richard LeBlanc) of Moncton, Susan Kritsch (Kurt) of Sarsfield, ON; her loving long time friend, David Blakney of Intervale; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Kay Douglas (late Harry) and Shirley Johnston (late Earl); sisters-in-law, Mina, Elizabeth and Geraldine Ettinger; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Freda was predeceased by her son, Ronald Welner; brothers, William, Albert and Victor Ettinger.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday March 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to Celebrate Freda’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Andrew Bryce officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In memory of Freda, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 would be appreciated by the family.
