SCOTT, Hilda “Ruth”, 85, West Green Harbour, passed away peacefully in Roseway Hospital on Sunday, August 2, 2015 with her three daughters and three granddaughters by her side. Born in West Green Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Kennetha (Williams) BeLong and William Sperry. Mum was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, walking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting and many games. She especially enjoyed her time spent with the grandchildren. Family and friends enjoyed her many baked treats. Mum and Dad enjoyed their many camping trips at Louis Head Beach and Hemeon’s Head. She is survived by daughters, Thelma (Mark) Snow, Canada Hill; Leah (Roger) Harding, Lockeport; Hilda (Dean) MacKenzie, Lockeport; grandchildren, Alicia (Broderick) Pollard; Noah Snow; Tanya Snow (Jimmy); Tina (John) Atherton, and Matthew Snow (Erin); great grandchildren, Caleb, Kristyn, Brandon, DeLana, Dylan, Jayda, Aleena and Ava; sister, Irma Johnson; brother, Martin Wamback; sisters-in-law, Alice and Diane; many nieces and nephews as well as her devoted friend, Lorna. She was predeceased by Dad (Carroll) whose loss she never recovered from. Also, brothers, Arden, Earl and Irvin; step-father, Sandy. She spent (from her teenage years till the time of her marriage of 54 years to dad) with her “second family”, Blanche and Jerry Belong and children Tishie, Charlie and Eileen. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5 from 7-9 P.M. in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport, where the funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 6 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Kevin Grant officiating. Burial in Scott`s Cemetery, West Green Harbour.
